Method
- Rinse rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a pot, bring water, salt, butter, and turmeric to a boil.
- Add the cinnamon stick (if using) and stir in rice.
- Cover and reduce heat to low; simmer 15–20 minutes until tender and all liquid is absorbed.
- Stir in raisins (optional) and fluff with a fork before serving.

TIP: Add a squeeze of lemon for a brighter flavour or a few toasted almonds for texture.
